Hello there! Welcome. My name’s Amber and I love swimming, music, hip hop and fashion. I’m completing an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design and am ready to step out into the design world!
I have always loved being creative. From doing all sorts of crafts including writing and drawing the whole Wizard of Oz story when I was a kid, to learning to play songs I love on the piano now. I wanted to be a fashion designer for a while, because that really interested me and inspired me. Until my later years in high school, I also never really knew or understood what “graphic design” was. I soon realised that graphic design is so broad, and it has endless opportunities. This is what drove me to pick graphic design over fashion design really.
My two years at TafeSA have really allowed me to delve into the area to find out my strengths, interests, passions and my design identity. Overall, I’m driven and inspired by the power that design has to communicate and spark specific emotions and actions from consumers. My work can bring like minded people together, challenge individuals’ thoughts, opinions and perspectives. The creativity in design energises me, and it provides a creative outlet that can also get me a stable income.
My creative passions outside of graphic design are music, fashion and hip hop, and I love that I am able to incorporate these in my graphic design work. All these areas are ways of expressing yourself, and can also be forms of storytelling. This really inspires me and aligns with my creative side, so I hope I am able to delve into it in the design world! 🙂
